We connect people with qualitative market research study opportunities.
Qualitative market research is a method for consumer companies to obtain feedback from real people – either current customers or potential future customers – in order to ensure their offerings and marketing resonate with their target audience.
Perhaps you’ve heard of the concept of a “focus group.” A traditional focus group assembles a handful of people in a moderated discussion, providing feedback and responding to something like a new beverage flavor or packaging campaign. Sometimes the conversation gets at something deeper – an education company may want to learn why members of Gen Z are choosing to forgo college, or a cosmetics company may want to understand better how modern women view the concept of beauty and aging. These discussions help big companies conceive of new products, tweak their communications and marketing, and keep their brands strong in the eyes of customers.
Other forms of qualitative research can be in-depth interviews, diaries (e.g. take a short video of yourself making breakfast each morning or applying makeup each day for five days, and write a few paragraphs explaining why you do it the way you do), or even more immersive experiences like accompanied shopping trips (go shopping with a researcher, while they ask you questions along the way). These studies are often online, and some are in person.
Participating in market research studies is a great, easy, and usually fun way to make some extra money for simply sharing your thoughts! You don’t need to be an expert - in fact, the idea is to hear from regular people.
If you’re interested in taking part in some of these studies, check out our current projects. If none of those are for you, you can sign up for the general participant database.
